A range of meat products sold in NSW and Queensland has been recalled due to listeria fears. Gotzinger Smallgoods is conducting a recall on its 1kg sliced silverside, 1kg roast beef sliced, 1kg provincial ham sliced, 1kg 4x4 sliced ham and 1kg sliced champagne ham. The products were sold in retail outlets and butcher shops in NSW and Queensland.

A selection of deli meats available in New South Wales and Queensland has been withdrawn from sale due to concerns about listeria contamination.

Gotzinger Smallgoods is recalling several of its products, including 1kg packs of sliced silverside, sliced roast beef, 4×4 sliced ham, sliced champagne ham, and sliced provincial ham.

These items were distributed through retail stores and butcher shops across NSW and Queensland.

The recall applies to products with use-by dates up to and including the specified periods.

  • Sliced Silverside 1kg – 20 12 2025
  • Sliced Roast Beef and 4×4 Ham Sliced 1kg – 13 12 2025
  • Champagne Ham Sliced 1kg – 17 12 2025
  • Provincial Ham Sliced 1kg – 5 12 2025

Food Standards Australia New Zealand has issued a warning advising consumers against consuming these meats.

The recall notice advises, “Consumers should return the products to the place of purchase to receive a full refund.”

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.

“Listeria monocytogenes may cause severe illness in pregnant women, unborn babies, neonates, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals.

“The general population can also become ill from consuming food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.”
