Dozens of items from the personal collection of the late cricket legend Shane Warne are set to be displayed at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in a highly anticipated exhibition.

The exhibit, titled Warne: Treasures of a Legend, is scheduled to open on December 16 at the Australian Sports Museum. It will feature 48 pieces of memorabilia from Warne’s illustrious career, including his iconic floppy white hat, the renowned Gatting Ball, and several of his worn Test Match shirts and boots.

Upon previewing the exhibition, Warne’s son, Jackson, revealed that the Spin King had opted to store most of his cherished personal items over the years.

However, one significant item missing from the collection is the ball from Warne’s memorable hat-trick against England in 1994.

The mysterious whereabouts of this invaluable piece of cricket history have left even Warne’s closest friends and family puzzled.

“If you know where it is, please let us know. We’ve been looking for it,” Jackson remarked.

The cricket legend’s dad Keith said his son would be “honoured” to know his treasured sporting keepsakes would be showcased at the MCG.

“He absolutely loves the place, as we all know, it was his playground, you might say, and he’d be very pleased to know that it’s gonna be displayed at the MCG,” Keith said.

Bookings to see the exhibition are essential and can be made through the Australian Sports Museum website.
