ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) — Officials have classified the deaths of two men discovered on Friday evening in a utility room at a suburban residential complex as homicides. The victims have now been identified.

The bodies were found around 4:30 p.m. at the Dana Point Condominiums, located on the 1500 block of East Central Road in Arlington Heights, according to police reports.

Responding to a 911 call, police and fire department personnel encountered two individuals in the utility room who were unresponsive and had suffered severe trauma, rendering medical intervention futile. Both were confirmed deceased at the scene.
Arlington Heights police disclosed that the deceased were linked through their employment, with one acting as a supervisor to the other.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased as 53-year-old Juan Medina and Steven M. Weigenensberg, whose age was not specified. Although their deaths have been ruled homicides, the exact causes remain under investigation.
A death investigation is underway and no further information was available.
