A 32-year-old man is in critical condition following an alleged stabbing incident in the northern part of Adelaide.
The event unfolded around 4:30 pm when emergency responders were alerted after the injured individual managed to reach a neighbor’s residence in Elizabeth North for help.
The man was promptly transported to the hospital, where he remains in a life-threatening situation.
Authorities detained a suspect in connection with the case, but he has since been released without any formal charges.
This incident was one of two stabbing occurrences in Adelaide on the same day. In a separate event, a 48-year-old man was allegedly stabbed in a parking lot.
The older victim sustained a stomach wound as he reportedly tried to intervene in a domestic altercation.
A 20-year-old man was subsequently arrested, and is expected to be charged.
“The parties in each event are known to each other and there is no risk to the community,” a police spokesperson said.
“Both matters are currently under investigation and no further comment will be provided.”
