DOJ unseals indictment for Palatka man accused of robbing bank

A 46-year-old man, identified as Jordon Roger Anchando, could face up to 20 years in federal prison if convicted.

OCALA, Fla. — On Thursday, the Department of Justice revealed an unsealed indictment against Anchando, who is accused of participating in a bank robbery in Marion County.

According to a report from the Belleview Police Department, officers were dispatched to a Truist Bank on Highway 484 on June 2, 2025, responding to a triggered panic alarm. Upon their arrival, it was confirmed that a robbery had indeed occurred.

Bank employees recounted to law enforcement that a man entered the establishment around 11:30 a.m., handing a teller a threatening note. The note read:

“I have a gun. My partner will come inside and start shooting unless you follow instructions. $3,000 in loose bills in 1 minute. No alarms, no bait money, don’t say anything.”

After securing a sum of $798.68, the suspect reportedly exited the bank and fled in a white SUV, according to police reports.

The report states that after reviewing surveillance footage, a Palatka man, Jordon Roger Anchando, 46, was identified as the possible suspect due to matching facial features. He was arrested on Nov. 18, the DOJ says.

If convicted, Anchando faces up to 20 years in federal prison. He is currently held in the Marion County Jail.
