In an effort to gather more information, Chicago police released images in August of a vehicle sought in connection with the hit-and-run.

Authorities stated that the driver of a silver Toyota 4Runner was traveling northbound when they ran a red light, striking Martin as he crossed the street.

Following the incident, Martin was rushed to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His death has been classified as a homicide.

The driver fled the scene, and no one is in custody, police said. Investigators believe the vehicle is between a 2014 and 2024 model.

Chicago police are looking for the silver Toyota 4Runner they say was involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed Jermaine Martin on Kedzie Avenue.
