A fast food restaurant manager in the Atlanta region finds himself behind bars after allegedly shooting and killing an employee’s father in the establishment’s parking lot.

The suspect, Maurice Evans, 25, faces charges including murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. These charges stem from the fatal shooting of 43-year-old Dominque Goodman at the Palmetto location of Bojangles, as reported by WANF.

According to an arrest warrant, Evans admitted to police at the scene of the incident.

Authorities detailed that Goodman’s daughter, an employee at the restaurant, reached out to him on a Sunday afternoon due to a “dispute with the team manager.” Goodman arrived at the location, leading to a confrontation in the parking lot with Evans.

On Monday, Evans opted to forgo his scheduled court appearance, as noted by WAGA.

Family members shared with the station that the daughter had called Goodman, complaining about being bullied by the shift manager, Evans. Although Evans was initially sent home, he lingered in the parking lot. Upon Goodman’s arrival, a conversation with Evans escalated, resulting in Evans exiting his vehicle and shooting Goodman multiple times.

Evans remains in jail without bond, according to jail records.
