A 21-year-old Florida woman is accused of threatening to assassinate President Donald Trump after allegedly writing on social media that she planned to “shoot him with my glock” before his campaign rally in Daytona Beach.
Allison Albro was arrested Friday and charged with making written threats to kill or cause bodily injury, as well as using a two-way communication device to commit a felony, according to court records.
According to a news release from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, Albro allegedly made the threat in an Instagram post on Thursday, Oct. 29. The post reportedly featured a photo of Albro alongside the following caption:
Going to the trump rally in my city tmr so I can shoot him with my glock! wish me luck guys!!
Trump is scheduled to hold a midterm campaign rally Oct. 30 at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach.
Volusia County sheriff’s detectives and federal agents questioned Albro. Investigators say she admitted making the post but claimed it was a joke and that she deleted it shortly afterward.

“The defendant admitted to posting the threat,” prosecutors wrote in a filing asking that Albro remain jailed. “The defendant stated that she took the threat down after warning from her mother. The defendant stated that although she does not like President Trump, the threat was a ‘joke.’ She advised that she does not have a gun.”
Prosecutors argued in the filing that Albro posed a danger to the community and “should be held without bond pending trial.”
In a Facebook post Friday morning, Sheriff Mike Chitwood said his office was “not going to tolerate threats to assassinate the president,” adding that Albro was “learning that the hard way.”
“She posted this last night and got a visit from the VSO Domestic Security Unit and the U.S. Secret Service,” Chitwood wrote. “She said she was joking with this post, she doesn’t have access to a Glock or any other weapon, and she would never hurt anyone. Today she’s sitting in jail.”
The sheriff cautioned anyone else considering a similar “joke” to “think twice.”
Albro remains held at the Volusia County Jail on $2,500 bond. She is scheduled for her first court appearance Friday afternoon.
