An unexpected twist unfolded in the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, as a federal judge on Thursday mandated the immediate release of the man previously deported in error. Now back on U.S. soil, Abrego Garcia faces criminal charges, yet remains shielded from being sent back to El Salvador. Despite this protection, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had considered deporting him to an alternative location, which the court has now prohibited.
