The Game Awards are back, once again serving as a platform to unveil a slew of commercials, delight gaming enthusiasts with their regular dose of Muppet appearances, and settle the debate over which game will earn the coveted Game of the Year title. While it’s anyone’s guess whether Silksong might pull off a surprise victory, it’s clear that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is leading the pack. This game has garnered an impressive 12 nominations, more than any other contender this year, and is vying for all five craft awards: Direction, Art, Music and Score, Narrative, and Audio Design.
In terms of announcements, Crystal Dynamics and Amazon Games are preparing something exciting for the Tomb Raider franchise. Although host Geoff Keighley likely intended to deliver major updates on Resident Evil: Requiem, those plans were disrupted by an early leak of key artwork on the PlayStation Store.
