JSO: Man facing two murder charges in death of man, woman

Authorities report that two individuals were found dead just one day apart in mid-November.

In Jacksonville, Florida, a man has been charged with two counts of murder. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, he is accused of causing the deaths of a man and a woman nearly a month ago.

The police were first alerted to the death of 27-year-old Maurice Solomon on Saturday, November 15. He was discovered near East 15th Street and Phoenix Avenue. The Medical Examiner determined his death was a homicide.

The following day, officers responded to a call about a deceased woman under a bridge on Blanding Boulevard. She was later identified as 35-year-old Tiffany Felton. Her death, like Solomon’s, was ruled a homicide by the Medical Examiner.

Following a thorough investigation, homicide detectives identified 37-year-old Curtis Asberry as the suspect in both killings. Asberry was initially arrested on Monday, November 17, for charges unrelated to the deaths of Solomon and Felton.

With sufficient evidence gathered, investigators secured a murder warrant for Asberry. He has since been officially charged with the murders of both Solomon and Felton as of Friday.
