Georgia Killer Stabs Buckhead Grandmother Over 12 Times to Steal Vehicle, Apologizes in Court

A Georgia man has admitted to the murder of a 77-year-old grandmother, a crime committed in 2022. Last week, Antonio Brown pleaded guilty to the charges, acknowledging his role in the tragic death of Eleanor Bowles.

As reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, Brown submitted what is known as a “non-negotiated plea” on Monday, accepting responsibility for the fatal stabbing of the elderly woman.

In a statement made before his sentencing, Brown expressed remorse, saying, “I just want to apologize. I don’t think anyone should have to go through what happened to her.”

The grim discovery was made by Bowles’ son, Michael, who found his mother deceased in the garage of her residence in a gated community in Buckhead, Atlanta. He had returned home for the holidays, only to encounter the heartbreaking scene, as detailed by CrimeOnline.

According to Atlanta police, Brown infiltrated the community with the intent of stealing Bowles’ 2021 Lexus RS350. When Bowles confronted him, Brown reacted violently, stabbing her more than a dozen times before fleeing in her vehicle.

Law enforcement later retrieved the stolen vehicle in DeKalb County, which led to a breakthrough in the case when Brown’s DNA was found on the weapon used in the murder.

The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office had been preparing jury selection when Brown took the plea deal.

“Finding her like that is something that will be with me forever. What happened to her was her worst nightmare. It’s most people’s worst nightmare,” Michael previously told FOX 5 Atlanta.

Michael Bowles requested the maximum sentence for Brown.

A Fulton County judge ordered Brown to two consecutive life sentences. He has the possibility of parole after 60 years.
