A woman from South Carolina faces murder charges following the discovery of a deceased man on a roadway earlier this month. Authorities uncovered footage on her phone showing the man walking along the road amidst a domestic disagreement. The disturbing video has become a crucial piece of evidence in the case.

Charleston County deputies responded to a report of an “unresponsive man” lying on the roadway. Upon arrival, they discovered him deceased, with tire tracks across his body, as detailed by WCIV.

While authorities were investigating the scene, Phoebe Grace Armstrong, aged 28, drove by and was subsequently stopped by a deputy for questioning.

In an account reported by WCSC, Armstrong claimed she had dropped the man at his residence before returning home. However, GPS data contradicted her statement, placing her in the vicinity between 8 p.m. and 8:33 p.m. Additionally, her phone contained video evidence of her driving as the man walked away from her vehicle shortly before 8:30 p.m.

Upon conducting a forensic analysis, investigators found dried blood on the undercarriage of Armstrong’s vehicle, as well as within the rear wheel well.

Detectives have noted that Armstrong insisted she left the victim at his home and went directly to her residence on the night of November 30. However, further investigation revealed her phone’s GPS data recorded her traveling along Whistler Road and departing the area within the timeframe of 8 p.m. to 8:33 p.m.

An affidavit says Armstrong and the man were engaged in a domestic dispute at the time that video was shot and that the two had an “extensive history” of violence in which they were both victims and perpetrators, WCIV said.

GPS data showed Armstrong’s vehicle in the area where the man was found dead and leaving the location. she drove to a nearby Circle K gas station, where surveillance video showed her walking around her car using her cell phone flash light.

She was charged with murder and booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center. She’s being held without bond, jail records show.
