Long Island Mom of Four’s Final Texts Revealed After SUV Pool Death

The final messages exchanged by a beloved Long Island mother of four before her death have shed light on a tender moment between her and her husband.

Allison Rahmani, a 40-year-old Nassau County teacher, was texting Matt Rahmani shortly before she experienced what is believed to have been a medical emergency and drove her SUV into the family’s backyard pool on Aug. 21.

Matt, 39, had sent Allison a photo of a prayer shawl bag she had spent more than a year and a half making by hand. He thanked her for the thoughtful gift.

“I’m walking into God being like fire,” Matt wrote that day, according to People. “I’m feeling so good.”

Allison replied simply, “LOL,” Matt recalled.

“That was literally the last interaction I had with my wife,” the grieving father told the outlet.

He described their brief exchange as “this little banter,” adding that it perfectly reflected the warmth and humor at the heart of their relationship.

People close to the family believe Allison may have suffered a medical episode before losing control of her white SUV and crashing into the pool.

Although she was able to call for help, Allison died while she was being taken to the hospital.

The precise cause of her death may never be known because of the family’s Orthodox Jewish faith, a relative told The Post outside the family’s home in Hewlett in August.

Orthodox Jewish law calls for burials to take place as soon as possible, and autopsies are generally not permitted because they are considered a desecration of the body.

Authorities determined that Allison’s death was a tragic accident.

With no active criminal investigation and no indication of foul play, there were no legal grounds for a court-ordered autopsy.

When Matt learned that his wife had driven into the pool, he immediately prayed for her safety and recovery, he told People.

“Please watch over my wife and children. Keep them healthy, safe, happy, and close to you,” he said.

“Please give me the strength to handle whatever challenges come my way today. Help me not to worry about things I can’t control. Remind me that everything is ultimately in your hands.”

Matt acknowledged feeling “conflicted” after offering the prayer and discovering soon afterward that Allison had died.

Even so, he now recites those same words every day.

Family and friends gathered on Aug. 22 to honor Allison at a funeral service held at Boulevard-Riverside Chapels.

That was also the day she and Matt had planned to begin a romantic trip to Paris.
