Kim Kardashian is facing criticism from fans after announcing that she gifted each of her four children a Pomeranian puppy for Christmas.

The SKIMS founder shared the news on her Instagram Stories on Thursday, posting images of the new puppies playing with toys and snuggling in their crates. She also showcased the dogs, two with darker coats and two with light gray fur, individually on her Stories.

One particular image featured all four puppies cozily nestled together on her couch, accompanied by the caption, “Each kid got a puppy.”

Kardashian co-parents her children—12-year-old North, seven-year-old Chicago, ten-year-old Saint, and six-year-old Psalm—with her ex-husband, Kanye West.

However, after revealing the holiday gifts to her followers, many fans quickly took to Reddit to criticize her decision.

But after she told her followers that she had gotten her kids puppies for the holiday, many fans took to Reddit to slam the decision.

‘Puppies are not Christmas gifts for kids,’ one Reddit user wrote.

Another agreed, ‘Animals and pets are not gifts unless someone has really wanted that pet and will truly look after it. This is f**ked up.’

The SKIMS mogul took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday to share more about the elaborate gifts, posting pictures of the dogs 

‘If they each got a puppy then it’s not special at all. How will they learn to love one pet as siblings when they each get a personal dog like it’s a Tamagotchi?’ someone else typed. 

One user commented: ‘They don’t realize what a big responsibility having a pet is, they just have it for show and cause it’s small and cute and it’s something kids want but when the pup grows up they no longer care for it. Absolutely ridiculous.’

‘This is honestly so sad,’ another person chimed in.

Someone else seconded, ‘This is wrong on every level in every conceivable way.’

The four new additions to the family aren’t the only Pomeranians that Kim owns. 

She also has dogs Sushi and Sake, who she adopted with her sister Kourtney Kardashian in mid 2017. 

In 2022, she came under fire after she appeared to show the dogs living in her garage.

At the time, her daughter North, who shares a TikTok account with Kim, posted a video on the social media app that showed the dogs walking around the garage in tiny coats.

The dogs appeared to be in a large pen with pee pads inside.

The video, which seemed to be showing off the pups’ Christmas setup, included a mini Christmas tree and stockings.

But it was met with fierce backlash as many fans called out the SKIMS founder for not providing her dogs with a better living arrangement.

News of Kim’s extravagant present for her kids comes just one day after she shared the moment that she failed the California Bar Exam on the latest episode of The Kardashians on Hulu.

The 45-year-old has spent the past seven years studying to become an attorney, following in the footsteps of her late father, O.J. Simpson lawyer Robert Kardashian.

As a legal activist, she has secured the release of a string of convicts, starting with Alice Marie Johnson, who was convicted on eight criminal counts in 1996 for her work with a cocaine trafficking ring in Memphis.

Now, the reality show has shown Kim fighting back tears as her hopes were crushed, while her family rallied around her to provide her with some comfort.

‘That’s OK, I figured that,’ said Kim tearfully after reading the results, her voice cracking with emotion as her son gave her a hug and her mother cooed: ‘No…’
