A Kentucky educator has entered a plea of not guilty in court, facing charges related to alleged “sexual conversations” with a student in Louisville.

According to a report from WDRB, 36-year-old Sydne Graf made a court appearance last week, confronting a felony charge of procuring or promoting the use of a minor through electronic means. The presiding judge has set her bail at $100,000.

The investigation into these allegations began in December when detectives from the Louisville Metro Police were alerted by Jefferson County Public Schools about potential exploitation involving a student.

ABC 13 has identified Graf as a fifth-grade math teacher employed at Smyrna Elementary School in Louisville. The accusations suggest that she engaged in inappropriate interactions with a student during a Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) day.

Documentation from the arrest citation reveals that investigators have gathered screenshots and video evidence from the incident, purportedly depicting conversations between Graf and the student concerning oral sex.

Authorities took Graf into custody on December 15, as she was reportedly en route to meet the student near his residence.

Court records indicated that Graf has also been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Police reportedly found a pill container inside her purse that contained what they thought to be hydrocodone and Adderall.

Graf has been reassigned at the school to an area in which she will have no contact with children as the investigation continues.

“We know situations like this can cause anxiety for students and families,” Smyrna Elementary Principal Amanda Cooper said.

“Our mental health team is always available. If you feel your student would benefit from talking with our mental health practitioner or counselor, please let us know.”
