Dan Bongino, who briefly served as the FBI Deputy Director under the Trump administration, has decided to part ways with the role to focus on his podcasting endeavors once again. Bongino, known for his right-wing commentary, shared this transition with his followers over the weekend.

The 51-year-old former Fox News commentator bid farewell through his official government X account before turning to his personal one to express gratitude to his fans for their patience. He hinted at exciting announcements on the horizon, explaining, “I’ll have some announcements coming up but I’m taking a couple of days to spend with the family.”

Bongino had previously announced his departure from the FBI, a position he had been sworn into in March. His tenure was marked by a swift realization that the role was not to his liking, despite serving at the behest of President Trump.

Reflecting on his time in the administration, Bongino described it as “the experience of a lifetime” and commended the President for his leadership. In a message to his supporters, Bongino, the host of “The Dan Bongino Show” podcast, assured them of a prompt return to the airwaves.

“Thank you for your interest in the show and its return date,” Bongino mentioned, adding that they will have new content for his audience soon.

“Thank you for your interest in the show and its return date,” he said. “We will have something for you soon.”

The Westwood One radio network tapped host Vince Coglianese to fill Bongino’s afternoon time slot after the Queens native went to the FBI. Many of Bongino’s supporters expressed excitement about having him back on the airwaves.

Bongino is back baby!” wrote an X user going by “The Facts Dude.”

Others expressed hope he’d offer insight into the Justice Department’s handling of the slow-moving Jeffrey Epstein investigation Bongino speculated about as a podcaster before joining the FBI.

“We want the truth about Epstein now that you’ve seen it,” wrote social media user Braedon Sorbo.

Sen. Chuck Schumer used X to question the Trump administration‘s failures to meet Congressional deadlines with regards to its findings.

“What are they trying to hide?” Schumer asked.
