Michael Reagan, elder son of former President Ronald Reagan, dies at 80

Michael Reagan, the eldest son of former President Ronald Reagan and actress Jane Wyman, passed away at the age of 80, his family has confirmed. He died on Sunday.

The announcement was made public by Young America’s Foundation, which issued a statement on behalf of the Reagan family.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Edward Reagan,” the family stated. “Michael was and will forever be cherished as a husband, father, and grandfather. On Sunday, January 4th, Michael was called home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his entire family in Los Angeles, California. Our hearts are deeply broken as we mourn the loss of a man who was greatly loved by all who knew him.”

The family added, “We appreciate your prayers and kindly ask for privacy during this difficult time.”

Michael Reagan’s death marks “a profound loss,” the foundation said, adding that his “presence, warmth, and unwavering commitment will be deeply missed at the Reagan Library and far beyond its walls.”

The organization extended condolences to Reagan’s family, including his wife Colleen and children Cameron and Ashley.
