Warning: Spoilers ahead for “Chicago Med” Season 11, Episode 8 — “Triple Threat”

In the dramatic fall finale of “Chicago Med,” viewers were left questioning the fate of Dr. Caitlin Lenox, portrayed by Sarah Ramos. Although she emerges alive in Season 11, Episode 8 titled “Triple Threat,” her troubles are far from over. Previously, in Episode 7, “Double Down,” Lenox had discovered a patient, Faye (Olivia Nikkanen), who was being abused by her husband. Devin Carter (Jack Falahee) had visited the hospital after a drunken altercation, claiming his wife was away, but Lenox suspected otherwise. She went to check on Faye and found her injured at the foot of a staircase, a victim of Devin’s violence. While attempting to call for assistance, Lenox was rendered unconscious, marking the suspenseful end of Episode 7.

As “Triple Threat” begins, Devin has taken Lenox and Dr. Mitch Ripley (Luke Mitchell) hostage. Ripley, who was aware of Lenox’s intentions, had followed her to the Carter residence. Despite being restrained, they manage to treat Faye’s injuries and eventually overpower Devin. However, once Lenox attempts to call for aid again, Devin regains consciousness and pleads with Faye to shoot Ripley. Faye, instead, turns the gun on Devin, ending his life. The subsequent actions of Ripley and Lenox might jeopardize their careers in medicine.
