Chloe Naylor, a 16-year-old girl, has been identified as one of the two teenagers who lost their lives in a tragic accident on a rural road. The collision, which also claimed the life of 17-year-old Adam, occurred when their vehicle veered off the path in Kent, resulting in a fatal crash. A third passenger, another 16-year-old girl, survived but was hospitalized.

The incident took place on Old Ferry Road in Iwade, near Sittingbourne, with emergency services receiving a call around 8:30 PM on Saturday, January 3. First responders arrived to find a car had left the roadway, and despite their efforts, both teens in the blue Ford Fiesta were declared dead at the scene. The third teenager was transported to the hospital and has since been released.

In the aftermath, the bereaved friends and family are rallying to gather funds for the funerals. Heartfelt tributes have been shared across social media platforms, reflecting the profound loss felt by those who knew the teenagers.

A GoFundMe page has been initiated by a family friend to cover Chloe’s funeral expenses. The friend shared, “Many of you might have heard about the devastating accident that claimed the life of my daughter’s best friend, Chloe, on Saturday, January 3. It was a tragedy that took her away from us too soon.”

Their friends and family are now raising funds for their funerals, as they paid tribute to the teenagers in touching posts online.

A friend of the family set up a GoFundMe for Chloe’s funeral, writing: ‘You may have heard about the tragic death of my daughter’s best friend, Chloe on Saturday, January 3, in a fatal car accident.

‘Chloe was just 16 years old. Chloe’s mum, Donna, has been a good friend to me over the years, helping me when I was in hospital and as many of you know she has a heart of gold.

‘I am therefore creating a go fund me page as Donna would like to have a horse and carriage at Chloe’s funeral so Chloe can go as a princess.’

A fund was also set up for Adam, the 17-year-old boy killed in the crash, with a friend writing: ‘As many of you may have heard, we are heartbroken to share that Adam, best friend to our boys, tragically died in a fatal car accident on Saturday, January 3.

‘Adam was a very special friend, and our boys are absolutely devastated by this heartbreaking loss.

‘Adam was always smiling and full of life and his loss has left such a huge hole in everyone who knew him but especially Adam’s parents.

‘We have created this GoFundMe page to help support Adam’s family with funeral costs – something no family should ever have to face.

‘Any donation, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated and will help ease the burden on Adam’s family during this incredibly difficult time.’

Over £10,000 has been raised in total for the teenagers, who are understood to all be from the local area, with one being named as a sixth form student at Fulston Manor School in Sittingbourne.

A spokesperson for the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) previously said: ‘Multiple crews, critical care paramedics, and The Air Ambulance Charity, Kent Surrey Sussex attended the scene.

‘However sadly two occupants of the vehicle were later confirmed deceased, with a third occupant being taken to a local hospital for further medical treatment.’

The country road is used by drivers travelling between Sittingbourne and Medway.

The accident follows several others along the same stretch, including the death of a woman in her 20s on Christmas Eve following a crash on the M2 near the motorway services and turn-off for Gillingham.

It also follows the deaths of an 89-year-old grandfather after he was carried on top of a car that crashed into Gillingham last Monday, and that of a motorcyclist who was also killed along the same stretch of the M2, KentOnline reported

A local councillor called for something to be done to prevent more tragedies.

Kelvin Rivers-Simpson, Iwade parish councillor, told KentOnline: ‘It is very dangerous.

‘The parish council are looking at doing something in that corner there because it is dangerous.

‘It is on the highways improvement plan, which is the improvement plan. They were talking about a roundabout one time, but things move very slowly.

‘That will be actively dealt with in the not-too-distant future.’
