Tragic Beachwood Shooting: One Fatality and One Critical Injury Reported by JSO

A shooting incident on Beachwood Blvd. left one individual dead and another critically injured, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO).

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has confirmed a fatal shooting in the Beachwood area that resulted in one death and another person in critical condition.

During a Sunday evening news briefing, Sergeant Saunders from the JSO Homicide Unit stated that they received reports of a shooting in the 2900 block of Beachwood Blvd. just after 3:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals had been shot. Tragically, one person was pronounced dead at the scene, while a man in his 20s was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to Sgt. Saunders.

As of the briefing, the identity of the deceased individual had not been made public.

The shooting took place in a shared outdoor area, and several people have been detained for questioning regarding the incident.
