Zara and Mike Tindall cosy up to Harry and Meghan's BFFs in Australia

Zara and Mike Tindall recently enjoyed the company of Nacho Figueras and his wife, Delfina Blaquier, well-known friends of Harry and Meghan, during their yearly January visit to Australia.

At 44 and 22nd in line for the British throne, Zara was seen beaming as she strolled alongside 45-year-old Delfina Blaquier at the Magic Millions barrier draw on Australia’s Gold Coast this past Tuesday.

Mike, aged 47, was also observed sharing a warm embrace with Delfina amidst the activities of the sporting event.

This sighting follows a previous encounter where both couples were engaged in animated discussions at the same event held on Saturday.

Nacho, a staunch ally of the Sussexes, has maintained a friendship with Prince Harry since 2007.

The duo has been frequently photographed either playing on the same team or as opponents in numerous charity polo matches over the years.

As a mark of their friendship, Nacho – dubbed the ‘David Beckham of polo’ – was among a handful of confidantes who featured in Harry and Meghan’s Netflix documentary in 2022.

He recalled how Prince Harry met him and his wife for dinner shortly after he met Meghan Markle in 2017.

‘He looked at us and said: “Guys, I met a girl, we’ve just met but I think this might be the one.” You could tell right away that those eyes were those of someone who’d fallen in love.’

More recently, his wife Delfina appeared on the Netflix series With Love, Meghan where she helped the Duchess of Sussex bake homemade focaccia.

Despite their close connection to the Sussexes, Nacho and Delfina are said to be on good terms with Zara and Mike – and that is evident from the pictures taken at the Magic Millions event.

While Zara and Mike have shied away from commenting on Harry’s rift with the royals, relations do not appear to be particularly warm between the Tindalls and the Sussexes.

It’s understood that Princess Eugenie is the one royal cousin who has remained close to Harry, but it’s believed that Zara and her family are on better terms with William and his wife Kate.

The last time the two couples were seen interacting publicly was at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee thanksgiving service at St Paul’s in June 2022.

According to a lip reader, the foursome exchanged small talk about what cars they would be travelling in and Meghan told Zara: ‘You look great’.

Mike and champion equestrian Zara are in Australia for the third annual Magic Millions event, for which they are serving as ambassadors.

The couple has a long history with the country, first meeting in Sydney more than two decades ago in 2003 during the Rugby World Cup.

‘We have always loved Australia and it is like a home from home for us. We have been coming to QLD for so long now it has become a tradition for the start of the year,’ Zara previously told HELLO! Magazine.

‘[We love] coming out of the cold winter and into the warm heat, and the incredible water temperatures. The Gold Coast is just a great place to be – it’s got a bit of everything, from beaches to horses and everything else in between.’
