Dad Who Drugged Pre-Teens at Daughter’s Sleepover Settles Civil Lawsuit

An Oregon man who admitted to administering drugs to three 12-year-old girls during a sleepover at his residence has reached a settlement in a civil lawsuit stemming from the incident.

As reported by KOIN, Michael Meyden, alongside his former spouse, finalized or otherwise concluded the legal dispute on December 30.

Meyden faced multiple charges for allegedly serving drug-laced smoothies to his daughter’s friends during a gathering in August 2023, as detailed by CrimeOnline. The affected girls contacted their parents, who then took them to Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel in Portland. Medical tests confirmed the presence of benzodiazepine in all three.

In early 2024, Meyden confessed to three charges and received a two-year prison sentence.

One of the girls and her father initiated a lawsuit in November 2024, seeking $2.4 million in damages.

The terms of the settlement have not been disclosed in court documents.
