In a unique text message to Jonas Gahr Støre, first highlighted by PBS and verified by a representative from the Norwegian Prime Minister’s office, former President Donald Trump tied his ongoing ambitions to claim Greenland to his frustration over not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, a distinction he has long desired.

“Given that your country decided against awarding me the Nobel Peace Prize for successfully averting eight wars, I no longer feel obligated to focus solely on peace, although it remains a priority. I can now also consider what benefits the United States of America,” Trump stated in the message.

The Nobel Committee recently awarded the 2025 Peace Prize to María Corina Machado, a prominent leader in Venezuela’s democratic opposition. Last week, during a meeting in Washington, Machado graciously presented her medal to Trump, describing it as “a wonderful gesture of mutual respect.”

Nonetheless, the Nobel Committee soon clarified that while the medal itself may be handed over, the prestigious honor it represents is not transferable.
