In a troubling incident at a Wisconsin group home, a staff member stands accused of assaulting a teenage resident, with the entire episode reportedly captured on video.

Latimmia Washington, aged 27, faces charges of child abuse with the intention of causing harm, as detailed in court records from Milwaukee County. The alleged attack took place on Wednesday, January 14.

The local Fox station, WITI, reported that during an altercation, Washington allegedly assaulted a 17-year-old resident by pulling her hair, punching her, and forcefully throwing her to the ground.

The incident reportedly began as Washington was assisting the teenager in searching for a missing necklace. However, as tensions escalated, the teen allegedly struck Washington, which led the situation to spiral out of control, as outlined in the criminal complaint.

According to the complaint, Washington allegedly restrained the teenager by her hair and repeatedly struck her, a development further corroborated by local reports.

The altercation was witnessed by two other teens, one of whom captured the incident on her cellphone. Additionally, a third resident relayed to investigators that she observed the teen heading to her room with Washington following closely behind, leading to the alleged confrontation.

“I’ll pop you,” Washington reportedly told the teen, according to the complaint.

Court records show that Washington was released but ordered to home detention. She is subject to a no-contact order barring her from communicating with the group home and anyone who works or lives there. If convicted, she faces up to six years behind bars.

Washington has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Jan. 26.
