Biggest-ever Buc-ee's opening soon - not in its home state of Texas

Get ready for an upgrade, Florida residents—gas stations are about to reach a whole new level.

Fort Pierce is gearing up to welcome a sprawling 76,245-square-foot Buc-ee’s, featuring a whopping 120 gas pumps, 18 electric vehicle charging stations, and more than 700 parking spaces.

This new establishment will mark Buc-ee’s fourth location in the Sunshine State, joining its counterparts in St. Augustine, Daytona Beach, and Ocala.

True to Buc-ee’s reputation, the Fort Pierce facility will deliver on all the beloved features, including immaculately clean restrooms, an expansive food selection, and its iconic beaver mascot.

The project is currently navigating the approval process, with the company awaiting final go-aheads from utility providers. The grand opening is projected for early 2027.

Locals anticipate that the new Buc-ee’s will not only create hundreds of job opportunities but also attract road-trippers to Florida’s east coast.

Often dubbed the ‘Disneyland of gas stations’, Buc-ee’s has a cult following, particularly among Gen-Z, thanks to its social media-friendly snacks and over-the-top scale.

Fan favorites include the Sausage on a Stick, Beaver Nuggets and Dr Pepper Icees.

More than a gas stop, Buc-ee’s has turned pit stops into destinations.

Its football-field-sized travel centers pack in hundreds of pumps, restrooms that routinely win national awards, and an almost overwhelming selection of snacks, souvenirs and Texas-themed merchandise.

Inside, shoppers can find freshly made barbecue sandwiches, mountains of the chain’s famous Beaver Nuggets – the chain’s caramelized corn puff snack – house-brand jerky cut and packaged on site, and aisles of branded apparel emblazoned with Buc-ee’s grinning beaver mascot.

As Buc-ee’s has expanded beyond its Texas roots, each new location tends to arrive with fanfare – traffic backups, social media buzz, and curious travelers treating the opening like a community event rather than a store launch.

The company remains privately owned and famously tight-lipped about its finances, adding to the mystique around a brand that has turned the humble gas stop into a piece of Americana.

The first Buc-ee’s opened in Texas in 1982, and the company now has 54 locations across 11 states that are all open 24-hours-a-day, 365 days a year.

The majority of Buc-ee’s are in Texas, with others in Colorado, Missouri, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and Alabama.

When the monster station opened in Sevierville, Tennessee, the Daily Mail visited to see crowds of shoppers camped out overnight to witness the opening.

The store features 120 gas pumps, a barbecue brisket counter with a ‘Texas round-up station’ and rows upon rows of beef jerky.

But perhaps the most popular thing to eat at Buc-ee’s is its famous Beaver Nuggets – caramel corn.

The other side of the store sold merchandise, including t-shirts, mugs, socks, stickers, swimsuitd and other items emblazoned with the Buc-ee’s beaver.

That site, which has 400 full-time employees, also has a 250ft car wash.
