Portland police release photos of suspect accused of shooting 2 officers

In a tense development out of Portland, Oregon, local authorities have released photographs of a suspect who is currently evading capture after allegedly opening fire on two police officers. The incident took place on Monday night, and the suspect remains at large.

The Portland Police Bureau has described the suspect as a Caucasian male in his mid-30s, sporting facial hair. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a black jacket layered over a gray hooded sweatshirt, along with black pants and shoes. Tactical teams are actively combing the area in pursuit of this individual.

Portland’s Mayor, Keith Wilson, addressed the media on this alarming event, emphasizing the inherent risks faced by law enforcement. “This incident starkly highlights the dangers our officers confront daily as they work to protect our community,” he stated. He expressed deep concern for the injured officers, who are thankfully reported to be in stable condition. “We extend our prayers and wish them a swift recovery,” the Mayor added.

The shooting unfolded at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Monday when police responded to a call about a threat involving a weapon. Officers located the suspect on Northeast Clackamas Street, between Northeast 16th and 17th Avenues.
