President Donald Trump has hinted at annexing Greenland, Canada, Cuba and Venezuela and turning them into US territories in a series of doctored images shared online, sparking swift condemnation from world leaders.

In a recent development on Truth Social, the US president shared two intriguing AI-generated images that hint at future ambitions. One image depicts the US flag firmly planted on Greenland’s terrain, while another presents a modified map of the United States.

The first image, notably lacking any caption or commentary, shows Trump alongside other world leaders in a meeting room. Behind them, a strikingly altered map suggests that Canada, Greenland, Venezuela, and Cuba are now part of the United States.

During a session in Davos, Switzerland, Trump expressed confidence in reaching an agreement concerning Greenland’s status. He boldly asserted that Greenlanders would welcome the idea of joining the United States, despite consistent polling indicating local opposition to such plans.

“I haven’t spoken to them. When I speak to them, I’m sure they’ll be thrilled,” Trump remarked, maintaining an optimistic outlook. He further added, “Something is going to happen which will be very good for everybody.”

“We will work out something out where NATO will be very happy and we will be very happy.”

Trump added that the US “needs Greenland for national security and even world security”.

Denmark and some other European allies responded to the president’s threats by sending more troops to Greenland.
