Justice Without a Trial: The Kohberger Plea Deal

The families of Bryan Kohberger’s victims have been left stunned following the unexpected release of unsettling crime scene photographs, which depict the aftermath of the tragic events.

Kaylee Gonsalves’ parents received only a few hours’ notice before the public release of the images. The heavily redacted photographs reveal the bedrooms where the brutal murders occurred, displaying shocking details such as blood splatter on walls, blood stains on beds, and blood smears on floors, indicating a fierce struggle for survival.

Initially, three of these images inadvertently displayed body parts and the victims, prompting law enforcement to remove them promptly.

The families of the victims—Kaylee, Madison, Xana, and Ethan—have initiated legal action against Washington State University (WSU). They argue that the tragedies would have been preventable if the university had addressed numerous complaints regarding Kohberger’s inappropriate and threatening conduct. The lawsuit demands unspecified financial compensation and a jury trial, citing negligence and wrongful death.

The comprehensive 126-page legal document holds WSU accountable for Kohberger’s presence in the Pullman-Moscow area. The university is criticized for admitting him into their criminal justice program and employing him as a teaching assistant.

Reports suggest that shortly after Kohberger arrived, WSU became aware of his alarming behavior. Numerous formal complaints were lodged against him, citing his threatening, stalking, and predatory actions.

The families say WSU failed by not taking action and following up on the complaints about Kohberger, ignoring the warning signs that allowed Kohberger’s behavior to escalate unchecked.

The families claim, “On November 13, 2022, a foreseeable – and, in fact, predictable – tragedy occurred when Kohberger entered the bedrooms of four undergraduate students and violently stabbed them to death. These deaths should not and would not have occurred if WSU had acted appropriately.”

As the lawsuit heads to court, Kohberger’s sister gives an exclusive interview discussing how the family is hurting.
