A Texas woman has found herself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Stacy Gilbert was taken into custody following a shocking incident where she allegedly doused two children with boiling water, leaving them with significant injuries. The victims, a toddler and a teenager, were discovered with burn wounds when authorities arrived at a San Antonio residence.

On January 20, police responded to reports of an altercation at the home, leading to Gilbert’s arrest. According to a preliminary incident report from the San Antonio Police Department, the tragedy unfolded when Gilbert, reportedly agitated for reasons yet to be disclosed, entered the children’s bedroom and threw boiling water at them.

Both children, aged 2 and 13, were rushed to the hospital to receive treatment for their burns. Meanwhile, Gilbert faces serious charges, including Injury to Child with Intent and Injury to Child through Reckless Action.

A spokesperson for the San Antonio Police Department confirmed the familial connection between Gilbert and the children, although the exact nature of their relationship remains unspecified. This lack of clarity adds another layer of complexity to an already distressing situation.

Neighbors in Gilbert’s community who spoke to San Antonio news station KSAT, expressed their concern. 

“Honestly, I can’t really imagine why anyone would do that,” one resident told the station. “They’re kids.” 

Added another neighbor, “That is treacherous to do something like that . 

Oxygen could not locate an attorney for Gilbert.
