Annie-Maureen and Rod fell victim to the violent attack.
A couple has described being held at gunpoint after opportunistic thugs targeted them in a violent home invasion in Melbourne’s south-east.

Authorities suspect that two men were surveying a property in Clyde North around 2:20 a.m. on January 23. They reportedly parked a maroon four-door sedan on Aintree Close before stepping out of the vehicle.

The duo is thought to have walked around the corner, where they found the garage door at Rod and Annie Maureen’s home on Yellowstone Avenue slightly ajar.

“It’s an act of cowardice,” a local resident commented. “To brandish a firearm at a 58 and 59-year-old couple in their own home is simply deplorable.”

“Such behavior is disgraceful and contradicts the values we uphold in our community,” they added.

Police have circulated digital composite sketches of the two men they believe may have crucial information for the investigation.

The first individual is described as Caucasian, in his early 20s, standing approximately 180 cm tall, with a tanned complexion and blue eyes.

He was seen wearing a black hoodie and black surgical mask.

The second offender is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged in his late teens, approximately 180cm tall with blue eyes.

He was seen wearing a black ski mask and a black hoodie.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, with footage or further information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
