“We appreciate your prayers joining ours for our cherished mom,” expressed the “Today” show anchor on social media.

WASHINGTON — Savannah Guthrie, co-host of “Today,” conveyed her gratitude for the ongoing prayers for her mother, who has been unaccounted for since Saturday. In a heartfelt social media update on Monday evening, she urged, “bring her home.”

Nancy Guthrie vanished from her Tucson-area residence near Phoenix around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. Her family reported her disappearance by midday Sunday, according to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos. Authorities are treating her disappearance as a potential criminal case. Sheriff Nanos shared that Nancy has restricted mobility, hinting at evidence suggesting she didn’t leave voluntarily, though he withheld specific details.

Efforts to locate Nancy include the use of drones, search dogs, and the assistance of search and rescue teams, bolstered by volunteer support. Additionally, the Border Patrol and the homicide unit have joined the search operation.

Savannah Guthrie released a statement on Monday, as reported by NBC’s “Today” show.

“Our family is deeply thankful for the thoughts, prayers, and messages of support,” she stated. “Our primary focus remains on ensuring the safe return of our beloved Nancy.”

On Monday night, Savannah Guthrie posted to Facebook:

“We believe in prayer. we believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. we believe in goodness. we believe in humanity. above all, we believe in Him,” she said on Facebook.”Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant. raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment.”

“We need you,” she added.“He will keep in perfect peace those whose hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.” a verse of Isaiah for all time for all of us.”

“Bring her home,” the “Today” show host said.

“Today” opened Monday’s show with the disappearance of the co-anchor’s mother, but Savannah Guthrie was not at the anchor’s desk. Nanos said during the Monday news conference that Savannah Guthrie is in Arizona. Savannah Guthrie grew up in Tucson, graduated from the University of Arizona and previously worked as a reporter and anchor at KVOA-TV in Tucson.
