A woman in Nevada, who had recently alleged that her former boyfriend was spying on her, has been tragically killed alongside a friend she enlisted for protection.

On January 28, 31-year-olds Briana Flowers and Anfernee Pollard were discovered lifeless after Flowers’ 7-year-old son, Amill, found them unresponsive and alerted emergency services. According to a press statement from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, officers were dispatched to the scene at 7:20 a.m., where they found Flowers and Pollard with “life-threatening” injuries. Both victims were alive when authorities arrived.

In a press conference carried by local NBC affiliate KSNV, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Homicide Lt. Robert Price said the case was being investigated as a double homicide.

While no suspect has been officially identified, local affiliate KVVU reported that Flowers had a turbulent history with a former boyfriend, whose name has not been released. Just a week before her tragic death, on January 21, Flowers reportedly contacted the police after her ex inflicted injuries requiring her to seek medical treatment, according to her friends and family.

Shatiera Davis, a friend of Flowers and her son’s godmother, shared with KVVU that Flowers had confided in her about fears for her life, saying her ex-boyfriend “had tried to kill her.” In the days leading up to her death, Flowers reportedly expressed to Davis her suspicion that her ex was “peering through her blinds while she slept.” Flowers recounted an incident of seeing a man fleeing and entering an Uber, whom she believed to be her ex-boyfriend.

The precise nature of Pollard and Flowers’ relationship wasn’t detailed by the police, but friends told KVVU that Flowers had asked friends to stay with her for added security, and Pollard was among those who had offered his support.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office, as reported by KSNV, verified the identities of the victims as Flowers and Pollard, determining that both died from gunshot wounds, with their deaths classified as homicides.
