Chiefland Woman Sentenced to 10 Years in Alachua Case Involving Sexual Activity With a Minor

ALACHUA, Fla. – Chiarel Ruby Davis, 39, of Chiefland, has been sentenced to 10 years in state prison followed by five years of sexual offender probation after pleading no contest to unlawful sexual activity involving a 16- or 17-year-old victim.

In a May 2025 statement, the Alachua Police Department said Davis had been arrested on allegations that she engaged in sexual activity with a juvenile, gave marijuana to the minor and sent explicit messages and images. Police also said she allegedly arranged or allowed unsupervised meetings with the minor without the consent of the victim’s parents. The investigation began after a concerned parent contacted authorities, but additional details have not been released because the arrest report in the case was sealed.

Nicholas Jabari Scott was also arrested in connection with the case. He was charged with sending explicit images to one of the victims and communicating with the juvenile in a way that allegedly violated Florida law. Scott remains in the Alachua County Jail while awaiting trial on the charges.

Davis entered her nolo contendere plea on May 19, 2026, to unlawful sexual activity with a minor, an offense punishable by up to 15 years in state prison. Three other charges were dismissed at some point in the case. Sentencing was postponed until July 13, when Judge Susanne Wilson Bullard ordered Davis to serve 10 years in prison, with credit for four days already served, followed by five years of sexual offender probation.
