In an exciting climax to the season, Matthew Stafford, quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, clinched the coveted MVP award. He outperformed a competitive field that included Drake Maye from New England, Buffalo’s Josh Allen, Jacksonville’s Trevor Lawrence, and San Francisco’s Christian McCaffrey.
During his acceptance speech, Stafford took a moment to express heartfelt gratitude towards his wife, Kelly. “Kelly, you’re unbelievable,” he said, acknowledging her unwavering support for both him and their family. He highlighted her role in his journey, emphasizing the critical support she provides.
Adding to the excitement, the 37-year-old quarterback announced his intention to return for the 2026 season, a revelation that thrilled fans and teammates alike.
Joined on stage by his four daughters, who were dressed in matching outfits, Stafford turned to them with affection. “You’re unbelievable cheerleaders for me,” he remarked, expressing his joy at having them in his corner both on and off the field. He eagerly anticipated their continued support, stating, “I can’t wait for you to cheer me on next year when we’re out there kicking ass.”
Despite a disappointing conclusion to his season with a loss to Seattle in the NFC championship, Stafford’s performance throughout the 2025 regular season was outstanding. He led the NFL with 4,707 passing yards and 46 touchdowns, closely trailing Drake Maye in passer rating with a remarkable 109.2.
The MVP race was fiercely contested, with Stafford narrowly edging out Maye. It was the closest competition since the 2003 tie between Peyton Manning and Steve McNair, with Stafford securing 24 first-place votes compared to Maye’s 23.

Later, comedian Tiffany Haddish complimented Rams receiver Puka Nacua’s new haircut by telling him she’d be his ‘first rich baby’s mama.’

Fortunately, Vrabel was with his Maye and the rest of the Patriots in San Jose ahead of Super Bowl LX, so he was spared any embarrassment.
Vrabel (not ‘Verbal’) previously won the award with Tennessee in 2021.
