In Tucson, KOLD has received yet another communication concerning the purported kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie from the “Today” show.

Earlier in the week, several media outlets, including KOLD, reported receiving ransom notes linked to Guthrie’s disappearance. The station has now confirmed the arrival of a new message on Friday morning.

While KOLD withheld specific details, it mentioned that the latest correspondence includes information the authors believe will convince authorities they are behind the initial communication.

Although the IP address associated with this note differs from the previous one, the station noted that similar secure servers were used to obscure it.

The station has forwarded the message to law enforcement for further investigation.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed receipt of the latest message and stated that investigators are diligently evaluating its credibility.

The first message allegedly demanded millions of dollars in Bitcoin and set two deadlines — one that passed Thursday afternoon and a second on Monday, as CrimeOnline reported.

Guthrie’s family, including her famous daughter, have released two videos directed at the alleged kidnappers, both acknowledging receipt of the initial letter and asking for proof that the kidnappers have their mother and that she is alive.

Tabloid entertainment outlet TMZ, which also received the first message on Monday and drew criticism for reporting on it before sending it to investigators, apparently did not receive the second message.

Nancy Guthrie was last seen at her home shortly before 10 p.m. on January 31. Her family reported her missing at around noon on February 1, after she missed church.
