Family Releases New Video Asking Nancy Guthrie’s Kidnappers to Make Contact

After being questioned by the FBI in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, a man has been released, according to recent reports.

The individual, identified only as Carlos, was let go just hours after his detention during a traffic stop in Tucson, reported The New York Times. Carlos’s mother-in-law mentioned that he was in the middle of a food delivery when authorities detained him and subsequently searched her home.

Standing outside his mother-in-law’s residence in Rio Rico, Carlos addressed reporters, saying, “I hope they find the suspect, because I’m not it.”

His detainment followed the release of surveillance images by the FBI, showing an individual near Guthrie’s home around the time of her disappearance on January 31. Concern arose when Guthrie didn’t show up at a friend’s place for virtual church services the next morning.

Police are not only focused on finding Guthrie but are also investigating two ransom notes reportedly sent to local media, with one demanding a substantial Bitcoin ransom for her safe return.

As of Wednesday, authorities have not identified any suspects, and no arrests have been made in the case.
