A former Miss California and runner-up for Miss USA, known for her outspoken political views, made headlines after an unexpected exit from a religious council meeting at the White House.

Carrie Prejean Boller, aged 38, was dismissed from the Trump-initiated Religious Liberty Commission following accusations of attempting to take over a discussion on antisemitism.

Adorned with a Palestinian flag pin, Boller challenged officials on allegations of Israel’s genocide against civilians, a perspective she frequently shares on her social media platforms.

“Carrie Prejean was removed from the Religious Liberty Commission, and thankfully so,” a former Trump administration official remarked to Fox News.

“These commissions are intended to support the President’s agenda, not to be used as a personal platform for anti-Semitic views,” the official continued.

Commission Chair Lieutenant Dan Patrick expressed in a detailed post on X, “No commission member has the right to commandeer a hearing for their own personal or political purposes on any topic.”

‘This is clearly, without question, what happened Monday in our hearing on antisemitism in America. This was my decision.’

The meeting held on February 9 saw Boller challenging the panel on the definition of antisemitism, which the commission chair and Texas Governor Patrick declared was an attempt to ‘hijack’ the hearing for her ‘own personal and political agenda.’

‘Since we’ve mentioned Israel a total of 17 times are you willing to condemn what Israel has done in Gaza,’ Boller, a longtime supporter of Trump, said at the hearing in the Museum of the Bible in Washington DC.

‘No because I unilaterally reject that it’s not a genocide,’ Shabbos Kestenbaum said.

Boller hit back and asked: ‘70,000 innocent civilians killed? You won’t condemn that?’

The Jewish activist responded that he believed the only genocide had occurred on October 7 when Hamas attacked and killed around 1,200 civilians.

As of October last year, Israeli officials reported around 2,000 deaths and around 20,000 injuries since the war began, ABC News reported.

By November, around 70,000 Palestinians were reported to have been killed in the conflict between Israel and Palestine and 170,800 seriously injured, CBC reported.

‘By not being a Zionist does that make you an antisemite?’ Boller queried, as she wore a Palestinian flag pin.

‘I don’t think you need to be a Zionist to support a country that defends itself and is free and religious in a hostile neighborhood,’ Rabbi Ari Berman, Yeshiva University President, said.

‘So is anti-Zionism antisemitism?’ Boller queried, to which the Rabbi responded, ‘Yes.’

Boller continued pressing the panel and said: ‘As you know, I’m a Catholic. I’m a Catholic and Catholics do not embrace Zionism. So are all Catholics antisemites according to you?’

‘As I said, anti-Zionism – by denying the right of the Jews to have their own state while not saying the same for any other peoples, that is a double standard hypocrisy and anti-Semitism,’ Berman responded.

Boller, who converted to Catholicism from evangelical Christianity in April, was then interrupted by Governor Patrick, who clarified that the committee is ‘focused on religious liberty taken from all people.’

‘Whether they be Muslims, Jews, Christians, Sikhs. We’ve had all those witnesses here. This is not a commission on defining religions or calling out any theology,’ Patrick told the commission.

‘This is not the commission for that.’

Boller publicly condemned Patrick’s post on X that announced he had decided to remove her from the commission, and wrote in her own post: ‘This is President Trump’s Religious Liberty Commission, not yours.’

‘You did not appoint me to the Commission, and you lack authority to remove me from it. This is a gross overstepping of your role and leads me to believe you are acting in alignment with a Zionist political framework that hijacked the hearing, rather than in defense of religious liberty.

‘We serve as equals on this Commission. Just as I cannot remove you, you cannot remove me…. I refuse to bend the knee to Israel. I am no slave to a foreign nation, but to Christ our king.’

The commission was created by President Trump as part of an executive order in May.

The Department of Justice was appointed to provide support toward the commission’s goals of upholding ‘federal laws that protect all citizens’ full participation in a pluralistic democracy, and protect the free exercise of religion.’

Governor Patrick said in his post on Wednesday that Trump ‘respects all faiths.’

‘He believes that all Americans have a right to receive the great inheritance given to them by our founding fathers in the First Amendment.’

‘I am grateful to President Trump for having the vision and boldness to create this Commission. Fighting for the Word of God and religious freedom is what this nation was founded upon. Leading this fight will be one of his greatest legacies,’ he concluded.

Trump had previously supported Boller in 2009 after she was stripped of her crown as Miss California USA winner after she was accused of breaching contract, Fox reported.

At the time, she had spoken out against the legalization of gay marriage on the pageant stage. Trump, who owned the Miss Universe Organization, defended the contestant.

The Daily Mail reached out to The White House for comment.
