A California teacher known for her progressive views has ignited a social media controversy after criticizing what she referred to as “MAGA” educators within the teaching profession, labeling them as “pathetic and selfish.”
Noelle Carney Campbell, a teacher from Santa Ana USD, expressed her strong opinions in a TikTok video posted in January, which has since been removed. In the video, she questioned the presence of what she called “MAGA teachers,” expressing her disdain at the thought of such educators.
“The mere combination of those words makes me feel sick,” she stated emphatically in the now-deleted video.

Filmed in her classroom, Campbell argued that unlike doctors, teachers are not bound by an oath to place students first. She acknowledged that while many in the profession are dedicated and genuinely care for their students, there is room for individuals who she described as “pretty lazy, pathetic, and selfish.”
Campbell further claimed that “MAGA teachers” do exist and are not shy about their political stance.
“MAGA teachers exist. They’re not really quiet about it either,” Campbell said.
“Shockingly, a lot of them work in neighborhoods they shouldn’t be around, because of how they vote against them and how they feel towards them. Our students deserve better. And I don’t know if this will ever be fixed unless we oath to this type of service.”

Her account has nearly 35,000 followers and over 1 million likes.
“Teachers should respect different viewpoints and keep personal politics out of the classroom,” one user wrote on X.
“Her intolerance kills diverse classroom thought,” another wrote.
The one-time “Teacher of the Year” in the Santa Ana Unified School District in California, Noelle Carney Campbell, made the comments in a Jan. 27 post. She was laid last year off as part of the district’s budget-driven cuts affecting nearly 400 staff members
Campbell did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
