Authorities have reported that a 46-year-old resident of Manning has been communicating with convicted child sex offenders and murderers globally for several years. These exchanges reportedly took place through letters and online platforms.
The Western Australia (WA) Child Exploitation Operations Squad initiated their investigation after receiving a tip-off from the Texas Board of Criminal Justice in January. Subsequently, on February 12, officers conducted a search at a Manning residence.
During the raid, law enforcement allegedly uncovered and confiscated a significant quantity of files, photographs, and videos that are categorized as child exploitation material, all linked to the suspect.
The individual faces two charges of distributing child exploitation material and three charges of producing such material.
Currently held in custody, the suspect is scheduled to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today.
