The logistics software firm revealed in its mid-year report that the upcoming stage of its efficiency initiative is slated to begin in the second half of the 2026 fiscal year.
“In alignment with WiseTech’s long-term strategy to enhance higher-margin recurring revenues and its dedication to nurturing a high-performance culture, this initiative is anticipated to lead to a reduction of around 2,000 positions spanning FY26 and into FY27,” the company announced to the ASX.
Chief Executive Zubin Appoo asserted, “Let me make this clear: the traditional practice of manually coding as the primary engineering task is now obsolete.”
“AI significantly boosts the productivity of our logistics and trade expertise, leverages the extensive datasets WiseTech possesses, and enhances the network advantage we’ve cultivated over the last three decades,” Appoo stated.
Appoo highlighted that the company’s continuous AI integration is projected to foster a “leaner” and “more efficient” organization.
