Ranking of LA's ‘friendliest’ neighborhoods

Los Angeles Neighborhoods Ranked by Friendliness

Is your community among the friendliest in Los Angeles? According to newly released data from Nextdoor, a private platform designed for verified neighbors to connect, some areas in L.A. stand out for their neighborly spirit. Leading the pack are Trinity & 36th Street in Historic South Central L.A. and Atwater Village, both earning top marks in the platform’s “Friendliness Score,” as reported by KTLA5.

Researchers explain that these rankings are drawn from real interactions among residents on the Nextdoor platform. The data reflects various ways neighbors engage with one another, from offering assistance and sharing resources to fostering community ties.

The criteria for determining these rankings include several factors: the tone of online conversations (whether they are positive or negative), the number of fulfilled requests for help or recommendations, and expressions of community pride. Additionally, the sharing of free items in the “For Sale & Free” section is considered, along with the welcoming nature of residents, such as their responsiveness to new members and support for local businesses.

Both Trinity & 36th Street and Atwater Village achieved perfect friendliness scores of 100, marking them as exemplary neighborhoods in terms of community interaction and support.

It also takes into account how welcoming residents are, including responses to welcome posts and neighbors promoting or recommending local businesses.
