The officers reportedly endured multiple blows from snow and ice projectiles, resulting in injuries to their head, neck, and face.
In the backdrop of this arrest, a debate has emerged regarding the nature of the incident. Mayor Zohran Mamdani commented on the circulating video footage, suggesting that it portrayed an overzealous snowball fight. He raised concerns about whether such actions warranted assault charges.
