Dad stabs wife, daughter to death with massive curved dagger: cops

Tragic Double Homicide: Father Allegedly Uses Curved Dagger in Fatal Attack on Wife and Daughter

A tragic domestic incident unfolded in Virginia when a father fatally attacked his wife and daughter with a large dagger before authorities intervened, ultimately resulting in his death. The violent episode occurred in the early hours at the family’s residence in Fairfax, with a 1-year-old child present in the home.

Authorities identified the perpetrator as 54-year-old Chhatra Thapa, who launched the brutal assault shortly after 5 a.m. on Monday. The horrific event left the household in chaos and deeply shocked the community.

Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis addressed the media, describing the scene as overwhelmingly violent. “Calling this scene bloody doesn’t do it justice,” he stated, highlighting the unimaginable violence inflicted by Thapa upon his own family.

Police officers responded promptly to an emergency call reporting a domestic violence incident. Upon arrival, they discovered Thapa’s wife, Binda Thapa, aged 52, and their 33-year-old daughter, Mamta Thapa, both critically injured with multiple stab wounds.

The situation escalated as officers encountered Thapa in the act of attacking his son-in-law. The intervention by the police was crucial in preventing further tragedy.

The crazed dad was in the middle of knifing his son-in-law when cops stormed in.

Police opened fire, killing Thapa, after he repeatedly refused to drop the huge blade, authorities said.

The huge blood-soaked knife was found alongside his body.

Binda and Mamta were later pronounced dead at the hospital. The son-in-law remains hospitalized after being rushed there in a life-threatening condition.

The killer’s 1-year-old grandson was found unharmed inside the home in the wake of the bloodshed.

Thapa, meanwhile, died at the scene, according to police.

It wasn’t immediately clear what led up to the stabbing frenzy.

The son-in-law told cops that he’d been outside shoveling snow when he heard some type of disturbance.

He rushed back inside and call 911 after seeing his wife had been stabbed.
