Bizarre burglar breaks into Brooklyn home, kisses tenant and runs off: NYPD

In an unusual and unsettling incident, a Brooklyn woman’s home was invaded by a stranger who dragged her outside and subjected her to repeated kisses before fleeing the scene, according to police reports on Friday. The victim, aged 43, endured this bizarre encounter with a man authorities have identified as 32-year-old Jason Williams.

Police sources suggest that Williams, a complete stranger to the woman, might have used her as a diversion tactic to aid his escape from the area. This theory stems from the nature of his actions during the Thursday morning intrusion, as described by insiders familiar with the investigation.

Law enforcement officials have shared Williams’ mugshot with the public, appealing for assistance in locating him as their search continues. They are keen to apprehend him swiftly and have urged anyone with information to come forward.

The ordeal began when the victim was abruptly awakened around 1:30 a.m. in her Cobble Hill apartment, located near Degraw and Smith Streets. Williams allegedly forced entry into her home, disrupting her night with an unexpected and frightening intrusion.

Once inside, police report that Williams forcibly removed the woman from her residence. As they stood outside on the sidewalk, he allegedly kissed her each time a car passed or a pedestrian came into view, according to a source within the police department. This erratic behavior has left investigators seeking answers as they work to piece together Williams’ motives.

Then, as they were outside on the sidewalk, he kissed her every time he saw a car roll by or saw someone walking down the street, a police source said.

Detectives suspect someone may have been pursuing Williams, so he thought to use the woman as a sort of shield to direct suspicion away from him, the source said.

After a few moments, he let the woman go and ran off. His victim was left rattled, but not physically harmed.

Police say Williams drives a grey 2018 Honda Accord with a Pennsylvania license plate reading "NYB8385."

Nothing was stolen from the woman’s home, cops said.

Police recovered surveillance footage of Williams on the sidewalk near the home he broke into. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black-and-white checkered jacket, sporting large headphones and smoking a cigarette, cops said.

Police describe Williams as 5-foot-9 and about 200 pounds. He also drives a gray 2018 Honda Accord with a Pennsylvania license plate reading “NYB8385.”

Cops are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
