“One Battle After Another” continues its undefeated streak.

On Saturday night, Paul Thomas Anderson’s dynamic and unconventional drama claimed the top prize at the 37th Producers Guild Awards, positioning it as a strong contender for the upcoming Academy Awards.

By securing the Daryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures, “One Battle After Another” appears set to dominate this awards season. It has already garnered accolades from the Directors Guild, Golden Globes, and BAFTAs. On Sunday, the Screen Actors Guild will announce its winners.

The Producers Guild Awards and the Oscars have a history of aligning. Since both adopted a preferential ballot system in 2009 to choose a winner from 10 nominees, the PGA victor has mirrored the Oscar winner for Best Picture every year for the past five years. Over the last decade, they’ve only differed twice.

In his acceptance speech, Anderson referenced the recent acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery by Paramount Skydance, expressing gratitude to Warner Bros. executives Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy.

“Long may you wave, whatever the future holds,” Anderson remarked. “It truly is one battle after another.”

The PGA Awards were held at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Hollywood. The group also named “KPop Demon Hunters” best animated film, “My Mom Jayne: A Film by Mariska Hargitay” best documentary, “The Pitt” best drama series and “The Studio” best comedy series.
