Kate Moss recently made headlines with a powerful gesture of allegiance toward her good friends, Sarah Ferguson and Princess Eugenie, amidst the ongoing Epstein controversy.
The iconic supermodel, aged 52, turned heads at a glamorous Yves Saint Laurent after-party during Paris Fashion Week. Making a statement on the event’s second day, she donned a striking ensemble: a Yves Saint Laurent Fall 1988 Pink Colour Block Jacket paired with a sheer lace catsuit.
In a nod of solidarity to the former Duchess of York, Moss’s choice of jacket mirrored the one famously worn by Ferguson when she left London’s Portland Hospital after the birth of Princess Eugenie in 1990. This particular jacket, characterized by its pale satin finish, sharp 1980s-style shoulder pads, and oversized buttons, became a memorable fashion moment. At that time, Sarah’s then-husband, former prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, coordinated with a matching pink tie and pinstripe suit.
As Sarah faces one of her most challenging scandals, it is clear that Kate’s friendship with her remains unbroken. This fashionable homage underscores the enduring connection between Moss and Ferguson, showcasing the model’s support through style.
Though their worlds might seem vastly different, the bond between Fergie and Kate stretches back to 2004. It is said that they were introduced by Naomi Campbell at the birthday celebration of Hong Kong tycoon David Tang in Bhutan, marking the beginning of their enduring friendship.
Despite being seemingly worlds apart, Fergie and Kate have a close bond that stretches as far back as 2004 after being reportedly introduced by mutual friend Naomi Campbell at Hong Kong tycoon David Tang’s birthday party in Bhutan.
Over the years, the pair have been pictured on holiday together twice: first in Venice in 2013 and again in Greece in 2016, along with Sir Tang and his family.
Prior to Fergie’s public downfall, the two women frequently enjoyed girls nights out in London together, and were often snapped at numerous charity events, including a Marie Curie Cancer Care fundraiser in 2012.
In 2017, Fergie was spotted leaving Kate’s 43rd birthday party at then-celeb haunt China Tang restaurant in Mayfair, while the model even attended the wedding of Princess Eugenie in 2018.
Kate, who has attended numerous fundraising events with both Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, told The Daily Mail that Eugenie’s joyous wedding day had been both ‘great and beautiful’.
Fergie, meanwhile, has fondly described her close bond with Kate as ‘steadfast’ and a friendship that has spanned for ‘many, many years’.
Kate Moss stunned in a Yves Saint Laurent Fall 1988 Pink Colour Block Jacket and sheer lace catsuit when she attended a star-studded YSL after party on day two of Paris Fashion Week on Thursday. Remarkably, it was the same jacket Fergie wore in 1990 after giving birth to Eugenie

When the model celebrated her 50th birthday in 2024, Fergie shared a sweet message for her close friend with The Standard that read: ‘Kate and I have known each other for many, many years and we have laughed and been steadfast in our friendship in all ways.
‘Happy birthday, dearest beautiful Kate, with much love, Duch.’
As the disgraced ex-duchess faces a catastrophic fall from grace, Kate Moss’s commitment to standing by her side may come as little surprise to those well acquainted with the famous figure.
Indeed, Kate deliberately chose to stand by her companion John Galliano after he was famously fired by Dior in 2011 for an anti-Semitic rant in a Parisian bar.
Kate, who has acted as a muse for the fashion designer since they first crossed paths in 1989, even requested that Mr Galliano design her wedding dress in July 2011 as a public show of support during his career downfall.
Likewise, the supermodel chose to give evidence in defence of her former partner Johnny Depp in his high-profile defamation lawsuit with Amber Heard, and also publicly defended Mr Galliano for his previous actions in 2022.
‘I believe in the truth, and I believe in fairness and justice. I know that John Galliano is not a bad person – he had an alcohol problem and people turn,’ she said.
‘People aren’t themselves when they drink, and they say things that they would never say if they were sober.’
Kate has famously remained by fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell’s side amid troubled times in the industry, with Naomi describing Kate as her loyal ‘little sister’.
‘Kate and I have seen each other through the good and the bad. Kate has stood by me through it all. You can count on your hands the friends who’ll be there for you in the tough times, and she’s one of them,’ she told The Evening Standard.

Certainly, Fergie will no doubt be looking to lean on a friend like Kate as she seeks to manage the ensuing scandal of her close ties to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
And while the former duchess was once in the fold of a plethora of glamorous and wealthy friends, she is since believed to have been predominantly cast out into the cold following her collateral fall from grace.
A friend previously told the Daily Mail: ‘The honest truth is that she has nowhere to go and no one to go with. Her future is hanging in the balance,’ while a source said:
‘People don’t want to be associated with her any more.’
Following the release of millions of the so-called Epstein files by the United States’ Justice Department, her entangled relationship with the financier became clear and culminated in the arrest of Andrew on his 66th birthday.
Emails revealed that the former duchess and her beleaguered ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, had kept up their close friendship with the paedophile even after he was first convicted of procuring a minor for prostitution.
Embarrassing emails showed her begging Epstein to help pay off her mounting debts, even asking him to employ her as his house assistant as she ‘desperately’ needed cash – despite knowing he was still under house arrest in Florida for child prostitution.
In another email, she issued a grovelling apology for publicly denouncing him, claiming it had only been to protect her career as a children’s author, telling him he had been a ‘steadfast, generous and supreme friend’.
The most damning evidence, however, revealed that she took her daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, to have lunch with Epstein five days after his release.
As she and her ex-husband became embroiled in the growing scandal, Fergie fled the UK and secretly took refuge in the world-renowned £13,000-a-day Paracelsus Recovery Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland, over a month ago.
According to friends, even the ever-optimistic ‘Fergie’ now sits ‘in the depths of despair’ after the arrest of her ex-husband, with whom she remained so personally and professionally entwined.
One told the Daily Mail: ‘She feels deeply depressed and that the world is out to get her. She is very, very down. Some people, including Sarah herself, are worried for her mental health.
‘[But] what she doesn’t appear to feel is remorse for what has happened. She just wants this to all go away and allow her to get on with her life. Her head is in the sand.’
Friends have suggested that even people she could ‘normally rely on’ for support and funding have now ‘walked away’ amid huge public anger at the Epstein revelations. ‘The whole situation is toxic,’ said one, ‘no-one wants to go near it’.
