A 28-year-old woman from Cleveland faces charges of aggravated murder following the grim discovery of two young girls’ bodies, partially concealed within suitcases, earlier this week.
Authorities have identified the woman as Aliyah Henderson, the mother of the deceased children, according to WJW’s report.
The victims have been named by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office as 10-year-old Amor Wilson and 8-year-old Mila Chatman. Previous DNA analysis indicated that the girls were half-sisters, as detailed by CrimeOnline.
The tragic discovery was made on Monday after a local resident’s dog led its owner to the secluded area. Upon calling 911, officers arrived at the scene and located the first suitcase containing a body, followed shortly by the second one nearby.
On Wednesday night, police executed a search warrant and subsequently detained Henderson for questioning, eventually leading to her being charged.
In a related development, WOIO mentioned that another child was discovered in Henderson’s home. This child, who appeared to be in good health, has been placed under the care of the Department of Children and Family Services, according to police.
A cause of death for the two girls has not yet been determined.
