John Fetterman says he's in lock step with Trump on ALL his Iran war actions except one: 'It's my red line'

Democratic Senator John Fetterman has thrown his support behind President Trump’s aggressive stance against Iran, albeit with a crucial caveat that sets a boundary for his backing. In a recent conversation with the Daily Mail, the Pennsylvania Senator made his position clear: “My red line is no boots on the ground in Iran,” he stated unequivocally.

Fetterman, who stands at an imposing 6’8″, has emerged as a prominent Democratic voice endorsing the administration’s offensive against the Iranian regime. His advocacy is driven by a longstanding commitment to Israel, and he has consistently supported efforts to dismantle Iran’s terrorist proxies, such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.

The 56-year-old Senator’s enthusiasm for the campaign against Iran is striking and, in some ways, appears to surpass that of the President himself. Fetterman has expressed a resolute stance on the matter, declaring, “I support eliminating every member of the Iranian leadership until they surrender.”

A strong supporter of Israel, the 56-year-old has cheered on the downfall of Islamic terrorist proxies of Iran for years, like Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis.

In some aspects, Fetterman seems more keen on the war than the President himself.

‘I support eliminating every member of the Iranian leadership until they surrender,’ the Senator said.

He told the Daily Mail that Trump’s war on Iran, dubbed Operation Epic Fury, has already had incredible results.

But as Trump wants to keep all of his options open, and has said he would order boots on the ground in Iran if ‘necessary,’ the vision of US soldiers landing within the country’s borders worries the Senator, no matter his enthusiasm for regime change.

The Democrat’s support of the war stands in stark contrast with many other liberals in the capital.

‘Love it,’ he reacted after the initial US-Israel strike on Iran, which killed Iran’s late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and dozens of other top officials.

‘Not sure why it’s controversial to anyone to appreciate and celebrate wiping out 49 leaders of one of the most evil regimes in recorded history.’

And he’d be more than willing to vote for any supplemental military funding the White House might ask for to continue the war, which Trump has said could last for weeks.

‘I’m expecting a supplemental package and would fully back it,’ the Senator told the Daily Mail. ‘It’s necessary to replenish those kinds of weapons systems, Patriot, Arrow, etc.’

‘Country over party,’ he added.

Many top Democrats have decried the Trump administration’s war.

‘Donald Trump is dragging the United States into a war the American people do not want,’ former Vice President Kamala Harris wrote in a statement. ‘Let me be clear: I am opposed to a regime-change war in Iran, and our troops are being put in harm’s way for the sake of Trump’s war of choice.’

On the campaign trail in October 2024, however, Harris was much more critical of Iran.

‘Iran has American blood on their hands,’ she told ’60 Minutes.’

‘This attack on Israel, 200 ballistic missiles — What we need to do to ensure that Iran never achieves the ability to be a nuclear power that is one of my highest priorities.’

She refused to answer if she’d take military action if Iran made a nuclear weapon, saying she wouldn’t ‘talk about hypotheticals at this moment.’
