Carr received a 21-month prison sentence for her role in obstructing justice and has since been living under a new identity.
While incarcerated, Huntley faced numerous threats to his life, necessitating close surveillance alongside other infamous criminals.
One notable attack occurred in 2010 when a fellow prisoner slashed his throat.
British media have reported that murderer and rapist Anthony Russell, 43, was responsible for the attack that ultimately led to Huntley’s death.
No charges have been laid.
